The accommodation options available to the more than 60 million passengers passing through London's Heathrow Airport each year are numerous. However, for those passengers wanting the convenience of a hotel connected to, or within a terminal building, there are just three options available, the Yotel, the Hilton London Heathrow and the Sofitel London Heathrow.
The Yotel experience is different from a standard hotel, there are check in machines (staff are available at the front desk, known as the Galley) and cabins, not rooms. The standard cabins have a lower or upper bunk, small standing area with pull out desk, a modern (but small) shower/toilet area and are described as a single, seattle apartment rentals or cozy double. The Yotel offers a unique experience located directed in Terminal 4. A standard cabin provides a comfortable large single bed, with small area for luggage, standing room and en-suite bathroom. Cabins can be booked by the hour for a minimum of 4 hours starting at 25. A standard cabin is ideal for a single traveler who does not need a lot of space and is the cheapest Heathrow Airport Hotel option. A premium cabin is more suitable for couples.
The Sofitel and the Hilton offer similar accommodation at comparable rates. The Hilton is in Terminal 4 and has good size comfortable rooms. There are on-site restaurants, bar and leisure facilities. Room rates vary starting around 135, but check the Hilton website and hotel discount sites for any specials. The Sofitel is the newest Heathrow Airport hotel and is at Terminal 5. If the choice is between the Sofitel and the Hilton, then given the similarity of the facilities, look for the best deal on price and/or whether Terminal 4 or 5 is more convenient.
