The woman on the phone got my appointment for 10th of september, so i thought to myself , thats grea
First , i thought applying graco travel systems for an ESTA would be the best choice , so yeah i tried, managed to apply through a scam website which charged graco travel systems me additional 40 pounds for the order. But i wasn't bothered,so thinking graco travel systems everything was fine i also ordered graco travel systems my Return flight ticket graco travel systems for 620 pounds going on for 5 days checking back with the scam website, graco travel systems the order was still pending, so i decided to investigate, i found the real website and realised graco travel systems my passport got rejected.
It seemed that my passport which had not an E-Chip was not compatible with the border agency( funny thing is my passport was made in july 2006 and the new czech passports with E chips were made in september 2006.
So hence i was illegible for ESTA , but i thought to myself, i can't give up , i already have my flight graco travel systems booked for 28 of sept. So i thought i would apply for B2 visa , since i got told by people on the phone it shouldn't be a problem.
The woman on the phone got my appointment graco travel systems for 10th of september, so i thought to myself , thats great , it will take 10 days max for approval and then i only have 8 days to go! How sadly mistaken i was....
He asked her about her name , and i said her name was Kathy as i put in before graco travel systems in the application form. Then he proceeded to ask me how we met, and my reply to that was Its quite embarrassing really, we met online .
Sorry for my little story , but i felt i had to let it out of my chest, and since you people are very experienced with all this I would be very glad to ask what i can do in this situation right now, i cannot refund my plane tickets since Delta airlines have strict policy against refunds.
Sorry to hear of your experiences. The lack of an e-passport does NOT make you ineligible for entry with ESTA/VWP. There's some wording somewhere which specifically mentions this and associated dates - yours was issued before the cut-off (Oct 2006).
Unfortunately graco travel systems you also failed in getting a B-2 which regular readers of this forum will know was likely anyway, if you were eligible for VWP. If you post the letters and digits associated with the denial, others here should be able to decode them for you. Something like 212(a)(x)(i) type of thing.
When you next apply for ESTA, you need to declare the visa denial. ESTA may be denied as well, maybe for a few months, maybe a year. It seems to vary from the people that have reported here. A denial will cost you $4 rather than $14 if it's approved (I can't remember if that's the correct price) so you don't have too much to lose to just try it - might be cheaper than throwing away the plane tickets!
Don't give up on the plane tickets. Delta might hold the tickets for you in the form of a voucher or future credit. Just because it says non-refundable, non-changeable doesn't mean that you can't actually change it, believe it or not! There may be a hefty penalty involved or not though.
I wouldn't bank on it Geoff- I always fly Delta (them or BA from Heathrow to ATL are the only options) and they are a pain when it comes to Y refunds. Unless the OP paid top wack in Eco (which I doubt at £620) he's probably swimming against the tide....
This really sucks and I'm very sorry to hear that you went through this and spent so much time money in a lost cause. A major lesson here is this....DO NOT buy plane tickets until you have all the required paperwork/visas sorted out. This doesn't help you now I know but I'm really surprised by how many people get themselves into this situation. If your case stops just one person from making the same mistake then your post will have added value.
