The survey conducted by car hire comparator Carrentals.co.uk, found that nearly a third of respondents chose the UK and Ireland as their favourite holiday destination, despite the wide selection travel directions by car of locations to pick from, including France, Turkey, Portugal and Egypt. Spain is the second most popular destination, preferred by 16% of holidaymakers.
A recent poll by Carrentals.co.uk also found that many Brits are planning more holidays this year compared to 2011, with nearly 50% of respondents budgeting for extra holidays despite travel directions by car the poor economy. Only 1 in 5 people in the poll said they were cutting back on their breaks away, claiming they will be going on holiday less in 2012 compared to last year.

The survey also shows how the Internet is the preferred method for booking a holiday, with 74% of respondents travel directions by car securing their trips online, compared to 19% preferring to book face-to-face with a travel agent and just 8% over the phone.
