Philly is definitely the city where you should be to celebrate the Fourth with 'The Roots' performing for Free! Baltimore is where we should all be next weekend. The African American Festival returns for another family fun weekend of games, culture, art and fantastic music performances.
On July 7th 8th, M T Bank stadium will host celebrity challenges, the popular Baltimore Super Star singing contest and the African American film festival. There will also be vendor's onsite featuring unique cultural products for sale.
The festival is also known for showcasing some of music's most popular artists. This year's event does not disappoint. Some of your favorite legends of Hip-Hop will grace the stage (Sunday nght)performing all of our old school hip-hop favorites. Performing this year are: Kurtis Blow, Slick Rick, and Big Daddy Kane. The ladies on the mic are MC Lyte and the one and only Salt-n-Pepa. Gracing the main stage on Saturday night are neo-soul superstar Musiq Soulchild, Chante Moore and newcomer and "can I get a refill" songstress Elle Varner.
