Frontier Airlines added a new destination last week operating lodging accommodations grand canyon one of their animal themed planes into Chicago/Rockford Intl Airport ( RFD ) from their Denver ( DEN ) hub. The Rockford lodging accommodations grand canyon airport, despite its great position to attract customers in the northwest Chicago suburbs to the Madison area, has had a rocky road at attracting and keeping commercial service.
Aside from the new Frontier service, Alligiant is the only other carrier in the Rockford market. Allegiant provides flights from Rockford to a number of destinations including Orlando Sanford ( SFB ), St. Petersburg-Clearwater ( PIE ), Las Vegas ( LAS ), and Phoenix-Mesa ( IWA ).
The new flight will operate 3x s a week on the carrier s Airbus A319 aircraft with seating for upto 138 passengers. Frontier provides 24 channels lodging accommodations grand canyon of DirecTV at each seat as well as stretch seating , providing up to 7 additional inches of legroom.
We've already seen a great response to this new service to Rockford, which is the second airport lodging accommodations grand canyon Frontier serves in Illinois, said Daniel Shurz, vice president of Strategy and Planning for Frontier.  Not only will the carrier be the only non-stop to Denver, but passengers can make easy connections in Denver to a variety of destinations including Los Angeles ( LAX ), Phoenix ( PHX ), San Francisco ( SFO ), and Seattle ( SEA ).
Spirit will be launching new, daily non-stop flights from Dallas/Fort Worth ( DFW ) to Orlando, New York LaGuardia ( LGA ), and Atlanta ( ATL ) beginning on February 9, 2012. Just over a month later, daily non-stop flights from DFW to Boston Logan Intl ( BOS ) will take to the skies on March 22, 2012.
Dallas/Fort Worth ( DFW ) is also the home and a major hub for American Airlines. DFW has been known to be one of the most expensive markets in the US with American Airlines operating 80% of fights, but between revisions to the Wright Amendment and the addition of new competition, including Virgin America, fares have been dropping.
Southwest Airlines also calls Dallas home, but operates at Dallas Love Field ( DAL ) which is subject to restrictions of a federal law dating to 1979 known as the Wright Amendment. The law restricted flights lodging accommodations grand canyon from Love Field (with more than 56 passengers) from flying further than a neighboring state. The law was created to "protect" the new Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and with the growth of Southwest Airlines, the Wright Amendment became a source of controversy between American Airlines and Southwest. The Wright Amendment is in the process of being phased out, allowing Southwest to become a competitive force in the Dallas area.
