Spirit Airlines, an ultra low cost carrier, announced they will begin flights between Houston Intercontinental ( IAH ) and Dallas/Fort Worth International ( DFW ) starting on September 20, 2012. The airline will operate the flight 2x s daily.
With the introduction of these new routes, they ll soon be competing with Southwest Airlines head-on.  Southwest operates out of Houston s Downtown Hobby Airport ( HOU ) but operates nonstop flights in many of these markets.
