The milti-talented Mr. Jefferson was known for being a progressive farmer and adventurous gourmet, it is not surprising that Jefferson is also thought to be the first person in America to slice potatoes lengthwise and fry them. Rumored to have served French Fries at The White House as early as 1802, Jefferson's own manuscripts confirm that he brought the recipe back from his travels in France. Referred to by Jefferson as "potatoes, fried in the French manner,"  Quill  will be offering cultural travel in mexico these commemorative  pommes frites  together with a Piquillo Red Pepper Aioli and finished with herbs that Jefferson would have grown in hisMonticello garden.
